Duties and Responsibilities

• Asset and Competency Development (update existing SOPs and create new ones based on day-to-day activities).
• Strive for best practices in the industry, analyze the existing environment, and propose remediation plans.
• Perform all database management responsibilities in MongoDB for production and non-production workloads on-premise and in the cloud.
• Create, implement, and maintain MongoDB Health Checks/Monitoring, and have a demonstrated ability to automate MongoDB health reporting/event notification, and corrective actions.
• Identify code defects and enhancements and develop a detailed root cause analysis that can be leveraged by the product management and development teams to improve application availability and decrease the total cost of ownership.
• Performance issues arise, determine the most effective way to increase performance including scaling up or out, server configuration changes, index/query changes, etc.

Qualifications/Skills

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  
• Experience with the design/implementation of MongoDB replica sets and sharded clusters.
• Experience with database performance, scaling, and tuning concepts.
• Experience with cloud implementation with Mongo Atlas.
• Expert for MongoDB within the team, with the ability to share knowledge and train other team members.
